FINALLY GOT ALL THE UPDATES ON STATUSES WORKING‼️‼️
You can now attach up to 4 images/videos to status posts. Fixed some other bugs with bookmarking and reposting and stuff too. All seems good now, but I have more stuff planned with statuses -- design stuff mainly.
Hopefully the next updates on the list aren't so difficult.
A bit late but the first round of updates is done and rolled out. You can now embed videos and images directly into text posts, forum posts, and comments.
Get your "reaction folders" ready for those good ol' internet comment threads.
Assuming there are no bugs that need squashed on those features, I will now be getting to work on some Status Feed updates (image/video attachments as well), and then onto some even cooler stuff I've got planned.
next wave of updates should be done in the next few hours --- improved text editors for comments, forums, text posts (now all on a unified system). Embeds/Attachments in text posts and comments.
And after that -- maybe tonight as well but probably tomorrow -- will be some updates to the Status system to bring us closer to Mastodon/Bluesky/X.
added ads to a few areas that are mostly out of the way. I could get more views on the ads by putting them in more intrusive places, and across more pages but that ruins the site experience.
turning ad-block off would help a lot to support the site.
I plan on removing all ads once I have other monetization systems in place.
got groups and forums to connect to each other -- either one-way or two-way, with multiple links in either direction. Sounds complicated but it's not -- I'll write a wiki page.
Basically admins can link groups and forums so that your posts to each are automatically crossposted to any related areas for maximum visibility.
I also added regular group-to-group crossposting that anybody can use, by clicking the "Share" button on any post.
Trying to think of a way to bridge between text posts and forums for certain categories.
For example, we have the "Video Games" forum (https://internethub.co/forums/2/), and the "Video Games" group (https://internethub.co/g/VideoGames). Submitting a text post to the group is basically the same as submitting a post to the forums, which divides the userbase a bit. Working on connecting them, so that posting in one place causes the post to show up in both places, and replies merge together between both pages.
